The second is <strong>More Info,<\/strong> and here is where you\u2019ll find the file\u2019s metadata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Without a third-party app, MacOS users can only remove location metadata from image and video files. To remove location data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the file with <strong>Preview<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Tools <\/strong>and select <strong>Show Inspector<\/strong> from the drop-down menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <em>i<\/em> (Information) tab. If the file has GPS metadata, it will show below. Select it and click <strong>Remove Location Info<\/strong> to delete it. It\u2019s important to remember that photos downloaded from attachments and online sources likely do not have GPS metadata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">iPhone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>iPhone and iPad users can open metadata on iOS and iPadOS versions 13 and later with the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the <strong>Photos<\/strong> app and locate the photo or video<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap open the file and then tap the share icon in the bottom left corner of the screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select Save<\/strong> to <strong>Files<\/strong> from the pop-up menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick a folder and tap <strong>Save<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>Files<\/strong> app and navigate to the saved file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-press the thumbnail to prompt the pop-up menu and tap <strong>Info<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Info <\/strong>tab, tap <strong>More Info<\/strong> to the right of <strong>Information<\/strong> under the file name and thumbnail to open metadata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>iOS and iPadOS do not have internal features for removing metadata from existing photos and videos. However, users can disable GPS metadata for device cameras to create and share new photos and videos without disclosing location data.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the <strong>Settings<\/strong> app, scroll down, and tap <strong>Privacy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap the first option <strong>Location Services<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down and open the <strong>Camera<\/strong> app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The iOS <strong>Camera <\/strong>app defaults to <strong>While Using the App<\/strong>. To remove metadata from the original without making a copy or to remove chosen metadata properties only:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check the option labeled <strong>Remove the following properties from this file<\/strong> in the <strong>Remove Properties<\/strong> window<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select properties individually or click <strong>Select All<\/strong> and then click <strong>OK<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When users remove metadata from an original file, the file\u2019s creation date remains. To remove the creation date, users must choose the <strong>Create a copy with all possible properties removed <\/strong>option and then delete the original.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Android<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Android OS provides just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techtarget.com\/searchwindowsserver\/definition\/Read-only\">read-only<\/a> metadata features.
